Guest Ratings & Reviews
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The room was a bit on the small side, but it turned out well for me due to the especially cold weather. The staff was extremely nice, although there was a minor issue with towels. The location was good for visiting Berkeley and the Bay Area, but the neighborhood felt a bit unsafe. The dining experience was more than expected, with a great breakfast to start the day off right.
The hotel rooms were small but cozy, making them feel damp and a little musty, with a very strong old smell. Despite the cozy atmosphere, the noise from snoring, coughing, and talking made it feel as if the sounds were in my own room. The service was friendly and helpful overall, although there were instances of staff being inattentive. The location had its charm and seating areas but needed more attention from the owners and had issues with security. The dining experience was adequate but fell short of expectations with some disappointing food choices. The facilities offered were decent, with some room for improvement.
The hotel is conveniently located near transportation and shopping centers. The rooms are a good size with a king bed and two twins, though lacking windows. The service is friendly but needs to pay attention to details like replacing light bulbs. The hotel has a unique, slightly vintage feel ideal for various purposes.
